A CFO’s framework for managing data to win in the marketplace

I am sure we have all heard the statement from one or more business leaders, ’50 % of the data I have is valuable, and 50% is not, I just don’t know which 50%’. Today, no matter which business we are in, we have more data than we have ever had before, but we just don’t know how to manage it. Building on that thought, I have a hypothesis that whoever manages their data best going forward will win the battle with their competitors. I am not going to get into the rights around data, data access and data privacy, I will leave that to people more qualified than me, but I do believe that whatever data you have, the framework and approach to effectively managing it is crucial to be successful. This session will walk you through the framework of how to manage data; why definitions are important, who needs to be involved, and what rules and governance need to be in place in order to have an effective data management process to support better decision making.
